Introduction to the Sharing Stewardship
Materials
There are six separate documents provided through Sharing
Stewardship:
- Commentary to the Sharing
Stewardship
Materials
The Commentary provides
an overview of, as well as supplemental information
for, all of the Sharing Stewardship materials. It
is recommended that you read this document before using
any of the materials.
- Policy and Organizational
Documents Form
This form may be used by any land
conservation organization, regardless of whether they
hold conservation easements or fee ownership.
- Conservation Easement
Form
This form should be used for each conservation
easement interest held by the land conservation organization.
- Fee Interest Form
This
form should be used for each fee ownership interest held
by the land conservation organization.
- Glossary
This
document provides further explanation for many of the
terms and items referenced in the Policy and Organizational
Documents, Conservation Easement, and Fee Interest Forms.
The first version of the Glossary (December 2005) is
oriented toward Pennsylvania, but may be used by any
land conservation organization. In time we hope, with
the help of people like you, to expand the glossary to
include specific reference information for each individual
state.
- Sample Protected Lands
Inventory
This is one example of how land conservation
organizations may inventory protected lands. While
detailed baseline and monitoring information should
be kept for each site, it is a good idea to have a
summary document which provides quick reference to
all lands protected by the organization.

information is provided in the Commentary on how the
Sharing Stewardship materials relate to the Standards & Practices,
the user should understand that the materials were developed
